This Canadian Securities Course (CSC) is intended to enhance your understanding and help you successfully complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC ®). The Canadian Securities Institute TM (CSI) is the official educator for the CSC ® exams.

The CSC® is a baseline regulatory requirement to perform securities, mutual fund and alternative funds transactions in many financial services positions in Canada.

The CSC can create opportunities for careers in brokerages, mutual fund companies, banks, financial planning firms, wealth management companies and other areas in the financial services industry.

Design and develop investment portfolio, apply portfolio management, and develop an investment policy.

The financial services industry's various roles and responsibilities;

Why companies are incorporated and how to read their financial statements;

Analysing the financial statement of a publicly traded company through financial ratios;

The Canadian and the global economy, its components and important economic indicators;

Understanding investment products, fixed income, equities, investment funds, and derivatives;

Analysing securities and factors affecting their prices;

Industry regulation and its effect on the investment products;

The tax aspects of different types of investments and the importance of financial planning, and;

Portfolio performance measurement, modern portfolio theories and the matching of investment vehicles to client needs
